Lisa Dempsey, Buford, GA., of Lisa D Pottery, is a self-taught artist who began her journey with clay in the early 1980’s. Her signature pieces are her garden angels and fern vessels that celebrate her love of nature and creating art in clay. Garden Angels
Each Angel begins as a slab of clay. All of the elements; body, arms, face, hair and accessories are hand formed and assembled to create a unique Angel. After weeks of slow drying, the Angel is put into the kiln for a bisque firing. Next, the Angel is hand glazed in a variety of colors, all of which require several coats of ceramic glaze; a slow process that requires much patience and attention to detail. Each garden angel has a unique personality. From celestial to quirky and guardian to merrymaker. We have an angel for virtually every personality.
